Little Stevie Update

We have had little Stevie for a Month and half now. When we first brought him to the Vet he weighed 1.5 pounds. Today he is a whopping 3.5 !! I think he is well fed lol. He is growing so quickly. His head seems small compared to his body hehe but I am sure it will catch up.

Ok this is a late late update. I guess I got sidetracked.

We have had Stevie for 3 months now he is now 5.8 pounds and still growing !! He still isn't very coordinated , Im sure its his eye that throws his balance off. It doesn't stop him from doing a thing though. He chases the other kitties around the house. He even chases Julius who is 3 times the size he is. He has no fear at all. He is also a bit nippy but he is getting better.

Here he is helping Samantha carve her pumpkin lol

Day 3 Hernia and Gallbladder Oh My

Day 3 feeling pretty good. I called the Dr office just to make sure I can have a shower. She said the covering are plastic so there is no problem having a shower. AHHHHH felt really nice.

I had Vegan chili for dinner yesterday so Im a little gassy. :)

It says I can go back to regular duties as long as there is no heavy lifting. So tonight I will make Bang Bang Shrimp for my daughter :) She will Love it !

Day 2 of Hernia and Gallbladder Oh My

Day 2 was spent coughing and breathing and moving around. All VERY IMPORTANT things. I guess they blow a bunch of stuff into you and you want to make sure you get it all out. So the deep breathing in through your nose and out your mouth slowly is important. It clears your lungs as well. I think it helps you not to be stiff.
And today for the very first time in MONTHS I ate PEANUT BUTTER !!  I was EXTREMELY HAPPY !!
I don't think I mentioned this but in the process of me finding out I had gallstones I then became vegan and totally got rid of saturated fats. Now peanut butter does has some saturated fat 1.5 grams I wasn't taking any chances. I also eat a lot of raw foods, which has a lot of nuts in it so I had to take those out of my diet as well. But now I can eat them again YAY !!!!

Hernia and Gallbladder Surgery Oh My

Since I have nothing better to do with myself for the next month I will blog about my surgery. Just in case it helps others.
My surgery was Wednesday (today is Friday) I was a little nervous since I hadn't had any operations since my oldest was born 30 years ago. You wait in the little waiting room until they call your name. then they take all your vitals. Then they lead me into another room where the nurse was making sure she had the list of all my allergies. Funny I had forgot some and I guess its important because there can be derivatives of these in medications and so on. So once that was done she gave me my gowns and slippers and told me to change. Once changed I sat in another waiting room with my hubby and oldest daughter until it was my turn. I was actually kind of excited cause the thoughts of not having this Gallbladder anymore was AWESOME !! They hernia was a surprise the Dr told me I had one when I went for my first appointment WEEEE !!
Next I sat in a chair in a cubby. It reminded me of going to the office in school. Then the anaesthesiologist came and went over my allergies again and checked out my veins (I have good veins). after a few questions the nurse came and led me to the operating room. Pretty much how I remember it. Bright white and clean with Great Big Lights. They bundled me up in nice warm blankets. I had both my arms out to the sides. One for blood pressure the other for anesthesia. The anesthesia Dr said ok Allison your going to go to sleep now. I could hear my rate pick up, the nurse assured me it would be ok and then I woke up in recovery LOL

I expected to wake up in all kinds of pain but really I was just kind of sore. I remember saying to the nurse how comfortable the bed was. She said oh you Must be Tired LOL.

All in all it was a pleasant experience if you can say that about a operation. I have a bandage over my belly button one under my right boob and 2 more down my right side.

Ambulance rides are not all what they are cracked up to be

One Bite !!! Ok maybe 2 but it was a thin as paper. I should have know better ! I won't admit this to anyone in my family cause they would say ITS YOUR OWN FAULT ! But I just wanted to try it :(.

IT being a Chocolate Banana Cake  ( this pic is not mine) but now I see why the pic looks this way. It was not the nicest looking cake. It broke into like 9 pieces. I had to glue it with butter cream icing. What I really wanted to do was pitch the bugger out the back door and let the raccoons eat it. But I didn't.
Chocolate Banana Cake just in case you want to try it.

Now don't get me wrong its a tasty cake but GEEEEZ could it fall apart any more. It was cooled enough to take out. Pans were oiled and floured. Needless to say I am not keeping this recipe or maybe I can tweek it. Cause it did taste good. I had to have one little bite hehe.

Don't let it fool you, inside it looks like a mess !!

So to get to the point of this whole cake mess. That one little bite caused me to have a gallbladder attack. One freaking bite ! I try to tough them out but this time I couldn't so I tried a Percocet. Well as soon as that sucker hit the back of my throat I was done. My mouth watered and then I ran to the bathroom. I haven't throw up in 20 years and this totally freaked me out ! So hubby asked if I wanted to go to the hospital I said ok. He called the ambulance. They showed up about seemed to be about only 10 minutes. And to my embarrassment it was the same driver that was here to days previous to pick up my Mum. So he had a good time with that.He said you want some slippers. I said sure. He said let me guess you like cats ? As he handed me my Hello Kitty slippers. LoL  I think it actually helped my tummy cause it made me laugh a bit. So I got up into the ambulance and went for a ride. I thought I was going to die ! HAHAHA seriously talk about not feeling safe. I bounced everywhere in the back of that thing. Every single bump could be felt. Good thing I didn't have anything broken. Im sure it would have been truly painful !
Once at the hospital the driver asked a few of the standard questions, then he asked, So how many cats do you have. Well 11 now . His eyes almost popped out of his head hehehe. The nurse came to ask her questions. The driver says to her. Go on ask her how many cats she has LOL

My Mums caregiver said that riding in a ambulance was on her bucket list. Its checked off of mine now (not that it was one of the things I really want to do). I hope I don't ever have to go back in one Again !!

Stevie the Wonder Cat aka Al Pacino

This is Stevie the Wonder Cat aka Al Pacino. I got little Stevie here from my neighbor. He showed up at my house at around 7:30 PM. I saw him standing there and he said I have a present for you. I brought out a box. I thought the post office had delivered to the wrong house or something. But the box was open hmm. He said I have a present for you. What could it be ?? I was excited then I heard Mew mew mew. A Kitten ?? There in the box was a tiny little kitten. Then I saw his little eye. Poor baby it was AWEFUL !! His eye looked like it was ruptured (on our left) The other was just infected and had goop keeping closed.
So he says to me I found it outside at work and I couldn't just leave it there. So he brought it to me. So that evening I left a message for my vet that I needed to bring in a kitty as soon as possible. Then in the morning I couldn't wait I called. Like usual they got me in to see Dr. Bob right away my appointment was for 9:45. He looked at kitty's eye and what he said next I thought I was going to throw up !!! This poor teenie tiny little kitten had a LARVAE in its eye !!! If you looks closely at the eye that BLACK THING is the LARVAE not his eye !!! :(

They took Stevie from me right away to have surgery to remove the HORRIBLE thing that had invaded his little head. I had to sign a paper saying the I understand he may not make it. I signed and even though I only had this little guy for one night. I knew that I loved him and wanted him to Live and be Healthy.

So I went home and waited and at 1 pm I called to see how he was doing. My tummy hurt waiting for them to answer. Carol answered and told me that Stevie did GREAT ! And wait until you see what they pulled out of his eye !!! I couldn't even imagine.

Here it is

This GIANT THING that is half the length of my baby finger was in that poor kitty head !!!
Stevie is a trouper. He is getting better day by day. I can even see his little eye. I don't know if he will still be able to use it but its still there :)
